Last Friday we visited Sung-Soo Dong famous cafe named 'Onion'. The cafe is famous for it's cafe design and bread! During the LIVE video last week many Korea.com fans asked why the building is so old and why they are not rebuilding it.
The answer for the question is that they used the building that was built in 1970s. Until now the building was used as a supermarket, dining place, house and factory. They used the old building as a cafe because they wanted to keep the memories and marks that the building has from the past. They didn't wante to make a new one but to re-use the area from the past.
This makes the cafe atmosphere more antique and interesting for visitors to come.
We visited the cafe before lunch but there were alot of people. We weren't able to get our seats for about 30 minutes!
There are limited number of breads that cafe Onion was selling. They all looked so delicious and we actually tried some and I promise you that you won't regret eating the breads in cafe Onion when you visit Korea :)
The bread in the second picture is one of the famous one in cafe Onion! The white power on top of the bread is sugar power.
Butter Roll
Rasberry Tart
Walnut Bread with Cheese
Mushrrom Focaccia
Cheese Baguette
Is the bread pictures making you hungry? Cuz it's making me hungry and want to eat while I'm uploading the picture!!
This was the two breads and caffe latte in the cafe! The bread that is black is made of cuttlefish ink with cheese and cheese baguette.
The bread were really soft and we were able to taste the bread and cheese itself. For us cuttle fish ink cheese bread tasted more delicious that the cheese baguette! Also caffe-latte tasted awesome:)
This is the view of cafe inside
The cafe has a terrace but on the day that we went, it was too hot to eat outside.
This is where they make bread that they are selling. It's located at the terrace.
When you get a chance to visit Korea, visit cafe onion! We recommend you!
