At the National Folk Museum of Korea there is a set up section of buildings and supplies that people used in the past.
What do you think this is???
It's a hair shop!! The shop looks different from the ones these days. Can you find the blue and red color pole on the side of the door?? In the past when that pole keeps turning around it meant that the shop is open. However, these days hair shops doesn't have the pole, instead that have a small sign on the door saying 'open' or 'close' .
These days when you go to the hair shop and have shampoo done one one's hair, you're able to wash the shampoo off your hair in a shower booth. However, since there wasn't a shower booth in the past the owner fills the bucket full with water and washes the customer's hair.
Dining place back in the past. The owners usually wrote menus on the store window. In the picture it's a Rice Soup dining place. In Korean we say 'Guk-Bap' .
Have you ever tried GukBap (rice soup) before? well if you haven't you must try when you visit Korea! Especially Sundae GukBap and Pig GukBap tastes so good!!!
