"Papa YG" Under Investigation by Police for Building Violations > K-POP

A short while ago, news broke that "Papa YG" (real name is Yang Hyun Suk) was charged by the police for violation of building codes. This is not the first time that the  well-known CEO of ​YG Entertainment has been in trouble regarding building code violations.

A representative of the Mapo district police station in Seoul stated, ""Yang Hyun Suk has been charged for violating a building code and is booked without arrest. He was sent from the indictment of a prosecutor."​

Yang Hyun Suk has been in trouble with the law before concerning building code. He illegally added onto the YG building without receiving proper authority from the code enforcement at city hall. He also allegedly built an illegal bar in another building that he owns. In response to the previous investigations and troubles, he stated that he had torn down the new construction that was not regulated under a permit. It was later said that he had actually only torn down part of the construction.

He has been charged for these current violation but is not being held under arrest. He denies any knowledge of the illegal construction, saying that he didn't know that the permits for the building had not been approved. The police are currently investigating the matter further.
