Not only will co-ed Kpop group KARD and boy group BTOB be meeting fans in Canada for the first time, the organizer has dropped some hints that the last group of artists that will be attending as well is a girl group!
Promoted by Pop! Goes The World, Toronto Kpop Con will be held in the city for its third year - bigger and better! NU'EST had the honor to be the only performing group in the very first year (2015), while fans managed to see VIXX, GFRIEND, GOT7, and DAY6 during TKC16, showcasing the increasing demand for K-pop in Canada. Once again held at the John Bassett Theatre, TKC17 will happen over three days: May 12-14, 2017. Individual fanmeetings will be held for the groups, with KARD on May 12 and BTOB on May 13.
Despite having only two released singles, "Oh NaNa" and "Don't Recall", KARD has proven with their popularity that the K-pop fandom have missed seeing a nonconventional co-ed group on stage. The four-member group will also be visiting Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles in May for their first American tour. The popularity for BTOB, which started public ticket sales for TKC17 on their 5th debut anniversary, is also undefeatable. The group is currently promoting in South Korea with "MOVIE" and has already clinched the number one spot on Show Champion, which fans can expect to watch them perform live in Toronto.
Ticketing sales for KARD and BTOB has already started, while the identity of the final girl group attending on May 14 will be announced soon. (The organizer claims that they are bringing a girl group that "we all love".) Tickets to see KARD range from $80 to $170, with the top three tiers all sold out. Tickets to see BTOB range from $190 to $330. Since it is a fanmeeting, the audience will get to enjoy various fan services according to their ticket tier, including Photo Opportunities, Glow Sticks, Hi-Touch, and Pre-signed Posters.
