Along with the famous Korean TV station KBS, many important Korean officials and businesses united to present the 5th Annual Kpop World Festival Contest in Mexico. The purpose of the event is to allow both Koreans and Mexicans the opportunity to perform onstage in a competition presented by the Korean Cultural Center in Mexico City.
Contestants can sing or dance to any K-pop songs and routines. After the contest, winners are announced and given prizes. However, the first place winner then proceeds to the next stage of the contest- going against 40 other winners from around the world. Out of this large group, only 13 are selected as the finalists and are given a trip to Korea in order to perform onstage in the large 2016 WORLD KPOP FESTIVAL in Seoul.
The event was a push to bridge the gap between the Mexican and Korean cultures. Korea.com Team was at the event to get all the details of the event! The boys from the group “LGND” won The Grand Prize! They gave a truly amazing performance as they danced to Shinhwa’s song “This Love!”.
CONGRATULATIONS! Congratulations to all the festival winners! We would like to extend our thanks to the Korean Embassy in Mexico, as well as to the Korean Cultural Center in Mexico for kindly inviting Korea.com to be part of the coverage for the event.
