On 2nd April, Korea’s top boy group EXO brought their third tour EXO PLANET #3 – The EXO’rDIUM – to Singapore held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. 8000 over EXO-Ls (fans of EXO) turned up to support their beloved boys and EXO certainly did not disappoint with a show that was mesmerizing and incredible at its very core.
Kicking off the late afternoon show with popular hit singles ‘Mama’, ‘Monster’ and ‘Wolf’, EXO got the crowd screaming fan chants while waving white lightsticks in tandem. Taking time to greet their fans, Chanyeol tried to converse in English, “Hello Singapore long time no see! I so miss you!” A concerned Xiumin even asked fans to be careful and not push one other, assuring them that the members will try to reach out to everyone. A slight technical issue occurred during Baekhyun’s turn as confetti suddenly burst into the air, prompting him to quip that even the confetti machine was happy to see them!
Fans were treated to a display of mesmerizing show production as water rained down around EXO, enclosing them in a watery cage while they danced to ‘White Noise’. Showing non-stop sex appeal during ‘Artificial Love’, EXO members each danced with a pole and executed seductive body waves which sent their fans in a frenzy. After a short interval, EXO returned with a change of outfit and sat down on the main stage to perform a series of medley with Chanyeol on the guitar. During ‘Call Me Baby’, EXO invited fans to sing along before Sehun and Kai wrapped up the segment with a sexy dance in a pool of water. Kai sent fans into hysteria when he looked into the camera and slowly unbuttoned the top of his shirt.
The fun segment began when EXO returned dressed as elfs and performed cute renditions of ‘Heaven’ and ‘Girl X Friend’, interacting with fans around the stadium. Following up with another fan favourite, ‘Overdose’, EXO treated fans to an impressive display of ‘Transformer’ and ‘Light Saber’ in the rain with their very own lightsabers. However, the water was apparently too cold for drenched Baekhyun who complained that he was surprised by the temperature. The cheeky cameraman zoomed in to Baekhyun on the main screen and slowly panned down his body much to the delight of everyone.
During the talking segment, Suho mentioned that he enjoyed chilli crab
and would like to try kaya jam next. Baekhyun added that he loves mantou
(steamed bun) with chilli crab sauce and proceeded to survey fans
for their preference. Majority agreed with his choice! Suho not
only leads well but can flirt well too! Teasing fans about the fantastic night
view in Singapore, he smoothly commented that nothing could be better than the
fans themselves.
Fan-events are common occurrences and this time, fans prepared a surprise banner event and sang a birthday song for Sehun’s early celebration. When asked what he would like as a gift, Sehun responded that he wanted 5000 boxes of food for his dog, Vivi. Chanyeol agreed on the condition that Vivi must finish everything in one month while Xiumin joked that Sehun can share the food with Vivi. The talk segment ended with Chanyeol boasting that he had recently scored 207 in bowling and hopes to go professional soon.
As the sun slowly set, EXO returned on stage with the talented Chanyeol on the DJ consoles blasting EDM tracks while the members danced passionately, encouraging everyone in the audience to get on their feet and groove. Suggesting an end with ‘Keep On Dancing’, ‘Lucky’ and ‘Run’, EXO waved goodbye to fans who immediately began chanting for an encore. With the lightsticks flashing, fans sang ‘Sing For You’ while waiting patiently for the encore stage which they gladly did with ‘Growl’, ‘Lucky One’ and ‘Angel’.
While thanking their fans, Baekhyun hilariously noted that the stage looked like a claw machine as it was littered with plushies by fans. He added with a grin that although it was dangerous, he always secretly looked forward to the encore stage to wait for such precious gifts and hopes to create more wonderful memories in future. Xiumin felt that time passed quickly and promised that EXO would return with greater songs in the next concert. Chen expressed sadness that they were in Singapore for only 1 day and hoped that fans would return home with happy memories while Kai shared that concerts were a healing time for him and was thankful to be able to perform for their fans. Leader Suho thanked everyone for staying with them and sharing wondering memories for the past 5 years and hoped that they will continue to be together with their fans for many more years to come.
