BTS announced as one of performers for 2017 American Music Awards > K-POP

2017 may be coming to an end soon, but it's been quite the whirlwind of a year for arguably KPOP's biggest group currently, ​BTS​. The seven-member group not only became the first KPOP group to win an award at the ​Billboard Music Awards​, but has penetrated through the American market through social media without official promotions. And now, on the heels of their record-breaking mini-album '​Love Yourself 承 'Her'​​', which sold over 1 million copies and saw title track '​DNA​' chart on the Billboard Social Top 50 and other Billboard charts, the members have found themselves invited to perform at the ​2017 American Music Awards​ on November 19th.

This marks the group's official US debut performance, a dream that they had expressed during their acceptance speech during the BBMAs. It's quite a huge achievement for a group that hasn't targeted the Western music market specifically, focusing instead on growing organically through hard work and social media.
