Big Bang member T.O.P is currently being prosecuted after drug test results came back positive for marijuana. This has stirred heated debate on the Internet.
The other party in the scandal is a 22-year-old former Jellyfish trainee named Han Seo-hee. When questioned by the police in March, she confirmed that she did indeed smoke marijuana with the popular idol. The police later found evidence linking T.O.P to the incident in Han's private belongings.
According to Korean media, many suspicious points still remain even though the investigation has come to a conclusion. Normally, the detection period for hair testing is three months. T.O.P was reported to have smoked marijuana last October, but still tested positive in April. The police responded, "When a person smokes marijuana, traces will reside in body hair and fingernails from six months to a year. T.O.P confessed to using marijuana in October and test results came back positive." They further revealed, "Even though the drug resides in nails much longer, it won't tell us when the drug was first used. That is the reason why we normally perform hair testing. However, T.O.P cut his hair when he started military service, so that testing was not possible. Thus we used body hair instead."
Netizens have also been curious about Han Seo-hee, the ex-trainee who smoked marijuana with T.O.P at his residence. She has posted revealing photos of herself on her personal IG account and bragged about how she has hugged and kissed "oppas" using improper language. That could be the reason why she was forced to leave Jellyfish. T.O.P mentioned that he had thought that the marijuana was just an electric cigarette, so there's discrepancy in their statements. The police said, "We are unable to disclose which of the two convinced the other to smoke marijuana first and their exact statements at this time."
