Kang Daniel has uploaded his first official statement after the release of dating news with TWICE’s Jihyo, with sincere apology to his fans.

Below is Kang Daniel’s full letter.

“Hello, This is Kang Daniel.

First of all, I would like to apologize to all of you who might have been shocked by the sudden news this morning.

I guess all of you haven’t been able to get anything (about the scandal) all day. I was worried that am I coming too late (for an explanation of the scandal). 

I am sorry that I couldn’t tell you about the scandal in advance, as well as leaving these words in this space that will be overflowed with you and my stories.

There have been so many things happened before I was able to pursue my solo career.

Though sometimes I felt really tired, it was not anything else but all of you that grabbed me.

I really want to tell you these words.

Even though at the time that you were under enormous pain as you couldn’t see me, feeling tired due to those speculative words with malicious intent, all of you just wait for me and hide those frustrations for me. Thank you for sending me love and support that I am able to stand up through those café events with my photos and subway advertisement with supportive messages.

Whenever I went to a café or a subway station feeling your love with my eyes, or at the time when I was preparing the record and all of you created those marvelous records that I didn’t dare to have imagined, I received countless comfort and hope from all of you.

It’s my responsibility and my wish to work hard to embrace your heart.

To fulfill those responsibilities, I promise to be singer Kang Daniel who always keeps in mind that showing good performance is a singer’s most important thing.

I have received enough from all of you and I always keep that in mind. I will work harder toreturn more love to you.

I will be Kang Daniel who gets better day by day.

우선 오늘 오전 갑작스러운 소식을 접하고 많이 놀랐을 여러분들에게, 정말 미안합니다. 

하루 종일 아무것도 손에 잡히지 않았을 텐데 너무 늦게 찾아온 건 아닌가 더 걱정이 되네요.

미리 말할 수 없었던 것도, 여러분과 저의 이야기들로만 가득해도 넘쳐날 이 공간에 이런 이야기들을 남기는 것도 많이 미안해요. 

제가 지금의 홀로서기를 할 수 있게 되기까지 참 많은 일들이 있었습니다. 

가끔씩은 정말 지칠 때도 있었지만, 그런 저를 붙잡아 주셨던 건 다른 무엇도 아닌 팬 여러분입니다. 

이 이야기를 꼭 드리고 싶었어요. 

저를 볼 수 없었던 기약 없는 긴 시간의 고통과 악의적인 의도가 가득한 추측성 이야기들로 힘들었을 때에도 오로지 저만 바라보시며 저를 위해 많이 참고 답답했던 마음도 숨기면서 제 사진들로 가득 찬 카페 이벤트나 지하철 역에 걸어주신 큰 응원의 메시지로 제가 일어설 수 있는 사랑과 응원을 보내주셔서 정말 감사드립니다.

카페나 지하철역을 찾아가서 여러분들의 사랑을 눈으로 담을 때나 이번 앨범을 준비하고 감히 상상도 하지 못한 놀라운 기록들을 현실로 만들어 주실 때마다 저는 여러분들에게 헤아릴 수 없이 큰 위안과 희망을 얻었어요. 

그런 팬 여러분들의 마음을 보듬어 드리고 그러기 위해 노력하는 것이 저의 몫이자 제가 해드리고 싶은 것입니다. 

그 몫을 해내기 위해서는 언제나 가장 중요하게 여겨 왔던 것처럼 좋은 모습을 보여 드리는 가수 강다니엘이 되겠습니다.

팬분들께 충분히 많이 받았고 감사한 마음 가지고 있습니다. 앞으로 그것보다 더 많이 돌려드리도록 노력하겠습니다.

내일은 오늘보다 더 나은 강다니엘이 될게요.
