Big Hit Entertainment acquires GFriend's Agency, Source Entertainment > K-POP

On Jul 29, BTS’s agency Big Hit Entertainment officially announced that it has acquired Source Music, the agency of girl group GFriend. According to Big Hit, It will complete a contract to acquire a stake in Source Music in the near future, and Source Music will be incorporated as a subsidiary of Big Hit. However, Big Hit added that the existing management of Source Music will be retained and at the same time the color and independence of the label.

Source Music CEO So Sung Jin revealed that ‘I’m happy that Source Music joining Big Hit label, and I think it’s an opportunity for our artists, trainees and members to take the leap.’ He added ‘Especially we expected that the ability of Big Hit to create global artist quickly will provide a strong background to Source Music.’

Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si Hyuk said ‘Big Hit and Source music share similar philosophy in fostering and managing artists. As we know each other the best, we expect the acquisition to be successful.’
