Los Angeles – March 3, 2017 – KCON USA, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, celebrates its sixth anniversary. Returning to the New York and Los Angeles markets, KCON USA continues to be the leader in spreading Hallyu (Korean pop culture) with star-studded concerts and expanded K-beauty, K-food, and e-sports offerings in both locations. KCON USA, the flagship events for the global celebration, is returning to at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on June 23-24, and the LA Convention Center on August 18-20. The Los Angeles iteration will now feature three concerts, one more than previous years.

Previously announced, KCON Mexico, the first event in Latin America, is set for March 17-18 and will feature a two-night concert with an impressive lineup. Since its inception in 2012, KCON has expanded into new countries and markets every year, achieving worldwide status in 2016 with the launch of sites in Abu Dhabi (UAE)Tokyo, and Paris.

“Our core events in Los Angeles and New York have built the strong foundation for KCON’s rapid global expansion in the past few years,” said HK ShinPresident of CJ E&M Music Division, which produces the event. “Each successful launch reinforces the idea that Korean pop culture is a worldwide phenomenon of which we are at the forefront.”

Last year, tickets sold out quickly, with more than 118,000 passionate fans attending KCON USA for unforgettable concerts, celebrity meet and greets, workshops, panels, food and fashion, which touched on every aspect of Korean culture and entertainment. This year, KCON USA continues to be the ultimate Hallyu experience with an additional night of concerts, an increase in vendors, and all-new programming that highlights the rise in popularity of Korean beauty products, Korean food and the world of e-sports.

With 350k attendees worldwide over the last six years – and 76% of those aged 15-24 – KCON USA also presents a great opportunity for companies to introduce their brands to a wide-ranging, young, and diverse audience. Over 250 sponsors and vendors ranging from automobile, wireless communication, accessories, clothing and beauty/cosmetic products to food and food ingredients companies attended last year and had great success at the convention.
