1. Try ‘Tteokguk’

Tteokguk' ('Tteok' means rice cakes, 'guk' means soup), is a traditional dish made with sliced rice cakes, beef, egg and vegetables. It is tradition to eat tteokguk on New Year's Day because it is believed to grant the people good luck for the year and gain a year of age. 

 

2. Play Traditional Games

Korea families often play traditional games like GoStop and 'yunnori' (a game played by throwing four sticks and moving your game markers) have fun together. 

 

3. Hang lucky bags on trees​
