On 12 January, rising hot actor Park Bo Gum meets with media outlets at his first ever private press conference, held a day before his 2016-2017 Park Bogum Asia Tour Fanmeeting in Jakarta. With a sweet boyish smile and a friendly wave, he undoubtedly charmed everyone at the venue upon his grand entrance.
The actor who shot to fame with hit dramas 'Reply 1988' and 'Moonlight Drawn By Clouds' planned to have a fanmeeting in Indonesia on 13 January 2017 at The Kasablanka Hall. This will be a memorable event for Park Bo Gum as “it is (his) first fanmeeting in Jakarta” and he has something special that he wanted to show.
The 23-year-old expressed his surprise and gratitude at the many fans who waited at the airport to welcome him the night before. Different from Korea's current weather (winter season), Indonesia's all-summer season gave him a chance to put on a simple t-shirt to explore around. He recalled trying local Indonesian food such as Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng as well as the love-it-or-hate-it durian fruit.
When asked for the reason behind his well-received and much-loved dramas, he answered that for 'Reply 1988', fans could feel the cosy family and neighbourly vibe whereas for 'Moonlight Drawn By Clouds', he had the opportunity to show everyone a different side through the Korean traditional look.
Park Bo Gum also confessed his desire to act together with Song Joong Ki in a drama or film in future. Turning the tables around, he then directed a question to his fans who attended the press conference and asked "what kind of role do fans want him to act in?" Without hesitation, the fans' replies were "school student and psycopath". We certainly look forward to Park Bo Gum's next project seeing how he has been on the rise with consecutive hit dramas.
Being the romantic that he is just like in his dramas, the real-life Bo Gum said that he could remember all his fans, especially those whom he got close with through events like hi-touch, and said that all of his fans are pretty. We think he deserves to be called a heartthrob!
