Girlgroup TWICE is ready to cheer up their fans in Singapore > SPECIAL

TWICE, one of the hottest K-Pop girlgroup, is in town for their first ever concert 'TWICELAND – The Opening in Singapore'. All 9 members turned up in full force to meet with local and international media outlets for a press conference on Friday (28 April), a day prior to their concert. The nonet consisting of Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu, the girlgroup stands out in numbers and aura. 

During the press conference, it was revealed that the members had prepared a variety of "special stages with different concepts" for their maiden concert in Singapore. This being their first time, they expressed excitement to meet with their fans (affectionately known by their fandom name, ONCE) outside of Korea.

Just like their hit song 'Cheer Up', Sana shared the secret to their tight bond and happy selves - cheering each other up by dancing or singing together with a disco-esque ball in the dormitory. Eating supper together while having heart-to-heart talks also help to blow the blues away and keep the 9 members as cheerful as their signature song.

Amongst all their songs, 'One In A Million' was collectively agreed on as the most favourite track to perform. Dahyun, speaking on behalf of the team, said that the song holds a special meaning as it is dedicated to their fans. Thus, performing it on stage and witnessing the loud cheers and energy from their fans makes them equally happy.

The nonet has been making waves since debuting just over a year ago, with a whopping 4 straight chart-toppers 'Like Ooh-Ahh', 'Cheer Up', 'TT' and the most recent release 'Knock Knock'. The members indeed have much to celebrate and be happy about, citing their 'Song of the Year' win at Mnet Asian Music Awards 2016 as one of the most memorable moments.

Leader Jihyo added that traveling to many foreign countries and meeting their international fans gives them happiness as well. Makes it all the more special that their fandom name (ONCE) has been officially created, giving their fans a sense of identity and belonging.

Their sky-rocketing popularity is reflected in the successful ticket sales with VIP tickets being snapped up within minutes of the ticket launch. Although the Singapore stop is not a sell-out show yet, unlike their 3-day Seoul concert, there are only limited tickets available mostly in Category 4. Some die-hard fans have also been following the group around Singapore and even waiting at their hotel to catch an up-close glimpse of their favourites.

Meanwhile, the group is reportedly making a spring comeback this May with a new album and gearing for their Japan debut in June.
