Joo Won, Yoo Ah-in and several K-wave stars have released their enlistment plans.
First, Joo Won announced he got permission from the Seoul Police to serve in their special promotions unit for his military duty.
Although the specific date he will enter the military is not determined yet, he has been carefully trying to choose his last masterpiece before enlistment.
Second, Lee Seung-ki who began his military service February 1, 2016 had his completion ceremony on March 16. At that time, he received his military colors.
Also Ryu Deok-hwan went for his enlistment on March 8.
Lee Seung-ki will end his duty on October 31 while Ryu Deok-hwan’s period will end on December 7, 2017.
In addition, the enlistment of many actors will happen this year, too. Many famous K-wave stars, especially, will start their military duty. They are Jang Geun-suk, Lee Min-ho, Yoo Ah-in and Ji Chang-wook.
Yoo Ah-in’s last masterpiece before enlistment is SBS’s historical drama “Six Flying Dragons,” and Jang Geun-suk’s will be SBS’s new soap opera “Daebak” followed by “Six Flying Dragons”.
When Ji Chang-wook’s performances end in China, he will start his duty. Also Lee Min-ho will enlist within this year.
All of them were born in 1986 or 1987 and they also have been enjoying much popularity with movies and dramas. However, they can’t avoid enlistment.
So, there is much interest about who will take their place.
There will be stars who finished their military service and younger stars born in 1990’s.
Young stars such as Park Bo-gum and Seo Kang-joon, will keep being active.

Also there are many popular stars who finished their military service. For example, Song Joong-ki is popular with fans for “Descendant of the Sun” for his role as the male lead, Yoo Shi-jin. Not only him, but also Ryu Joon-yeol who was in the recently concluded tvN soap opera “Reply 1988” and Yoo Seung-ho—all are stars who had enlisted earlier than other stars.
Every Korean man, unless he receives a deferment, must enlist for their military duty. Through that, there are changes in entertainment world.
However, it’s interesting to speculate about who will take place of enlisted K-stars…
