A fpr,er member of EXO, Tao was disrespectful at a 'Versace' fashion show in England. He was invited to this show with other global celebrities in England. Tao arrived late, and he walked on the runway to get to his seat which disturbed the fashion show, and the other members of the audience who frowned at Tao's attitude. Some Chinese press reports described this as being the height of rudess. Tao explained that he was stuck in a traffic jam, and he got out of his car and had to walk to the show. 

This past April Tao flew out to China and suddenly announced that he had left idol group EXO without notifying SM Entertainment in advance. Then, he made his solo debut in China, illegally. Now, he is suing SM Entertainment to nullify his contract.
